  • NGD Part 2! 1988 Carvin DC200

I almost bought this a year ago from a GC in Florida - and it sold before I could get my act together.....to a guy who live 15 minutes from me. It was on the 'bay, called him and worked out a deal, a drove to his place to pick it up. All in all probably my favorite vintage Carvin specs:

Maple neck thru (first year offered) with maple wings - yes it is heavy
Ebony board with MOP block inlays
"Jackson style" headstock (only available 88 & 89)
Fine-tuner fixed bridge - with one tuner missing
M22 hums with 3 way / 2 vol, 2 tone / 2 coil splits / phase switch (love this thing)
    Stereo wiring / 2 jacks
    Pearl red

I was really excited to find this - sounds great, feels great, and fun to play. Enjoy the pix!

Sweet! I love those old Schaller 456 bridges, too. You may be able to get a new fine tuner from Schaller.

Toe, this bridge was the deal-maker...love the look and FEEL. I'm guessing that even a German Floyd fine tuner would fit, unfortunately I don't own a guitar with a Floyd . I'm gonna run over to Carvin to see if they can help me out.

Great score! I have my third Carvin on order, but I'm also on the lookout for an 80's model like this. I would love to find this exact model in this great condition with a Floyd.

When is your build due? I saw some posts over on the Carvin forum....did you go maple or ebony on the board? Love the color - that thing will GLOW .

I ordered on February 5th, so I'm thinking near the end of March. I went with dyed ebony (no streaking).

Yeah, it'll definitely have a certain "shine" going on.
