The "D" in your name markD must stand for "derision". I adore that word and love the fact that you used it twice.

Was there a Wylde guitar in this thread? All I saw was a blue Jackson

I saw one of these at a local GC when I stopped in to grab a pack of strings. Not more than 10 feet away was a used PRS S2 Singlecut for the same price.

Two totally different leagues of guitar. And now, the GAS attack has begun for a PRS again...

I played the imports and NAMM. They weren't lightweight. But I've talked to a few builders that said they have built with mahogany that was featherweight then the next guitar weighed 12 pounds. The NAMM guitars had thick necks but were fretless wonders like too many imports these days.

There was a USA Wylde guitar that felt very nice and had actual frets. There was a DO NOT TOUCH sign on it. That's why I played it

I wouldn't buy it but don't mind the looks of it. Being blacked out is always pretty cool. But I always wear black..so I like bright colorful or white guitars. For a grand, we could buy many nicer guitars than that. But we haven't tried it to judge..ya never know, that thing might play and sound like a motherfucker..wait for a used one for half the price? Just thinkin'.

Ha..my eyes saw the same thing.

The lightest guitar I ever owned was a white Ibanez RG 550 with stock pups. It didn't sound bad. I traded it towards a 90's New HRR Strat with real Floyd Dimarzios and 100 bucks. That sounded better than my USA Floyed Rose Classic Strat..which sounds great.

Schecter is distributing the Wylde guitars and I think they are made by World Music. I don't know who is building his USA versions.

That'd be nice. Though, I'd be more interested in his amp line than the guitars.

They are probably Chinese solid state pieces of shit just like the Dean Dime amps that sucked horribly.

Could be. I believe Zakk's (the two prototypes) are supposed to have tubes and be based off of his old Marshalls, but who knows about the production models.

To me, plywood is heavy as shit..? Never seen a lightweight plywood guitar, but perhaps some of you guys have, just as weights may differ within a certain wood species.

I find it extremely unlikely that a WMI built guitar would have a plywood body though. Like, are there any plywood guitars still being built anywhere in the world?

                                Plywood guitars weigh a ton.

Some mahogany can be extremely light. There are many species of tree that can be called mahogany, and a dramatic difference of weight not only from species to species, but tree to tree of the same species.

Many USA Jackson guitars have poplar or basswood bodies, both of which can be ludicrously light.
