It's the same ol' ebony you're used to. My understanding is that it's just from a tree that would be deemed undesirable and left to rot while harvesters search for the darker stuff.

Yes it's still all ebony but isn't pale moon from India/SE Asia (malabarica) versus Gabon/African ebony (crassiflora) which is endangered? I have heard about the efforts to use all of the African trees cut and was wondering if they are marketing it differently?
