I built this for a guy in Las Vegas. He wanted a BC Rich style V.

are the wings solid flamed maple? how much that hog weigh?

was the jack on the back instead of the inside of the upper wing something that was requested or do you prefer to build it that way?

The wings are actually a maple/mahogany/maple sandwich. The guitar is not particularly heavy at around 8 1/2 pounds.

The jack is on the back out of necessity. With the bevels, the inside edge of the wing is a little narrow and I wanted to recess the Strat style jack. There isn't really enough meat to recess the jack on the inside edge so I moved it to the back, and I like it there much better. It really keeps the cord out of the way even when playing in a sitting position.

Beautiful! Love the strengthened scarf joint (there's a luthier term for that that I can't think of right now). I don't think BC Rich ever bothered with that.

Thanks guys. There isn't a scarf joint at all actually. The volute adds strength where the grain is shortest.

Volute...that's it! Very nice. The diamond inlays are BCR-ish and cool but as you know yours are slightly different.

Fantastic man! Love the reverse, the jack placement is interesting and cool, and the wood choice and finish are awesome.

That is one hell of a guitar. Great job man! What pickups are in there? And what does that mini-switch do? Killswitch?

Thanks again guys. The pickups are '59 and JB, and the miniswitch is a coil split for the JB.
