  • N(old!)GD - Performance Guitars

So I've been hankering for something with a Floyd for a while, and saving up for a new Pro-Mod San Dimas... talking to a friend the other day though and he reminded me that he was selling a couple of guitars. Ended up doing a straight swap with him - my Modern Player Telecaster Plus, which I'd fallen out of love with, for his Performance - I think it's a Corsair, but I'm not sure: he's had it for at least 20 years, it's been repainted, pickups swapped out, well gigged - I call it a bit tatty, he calls it naturally relic'd

Anyway, it's a beauty: one of the best necks I've ever put my hand on, it's an absolute delight to play, I think I've done alright out of that swap!

That's a nice score, and it looks better than your description too!

Love that color, too. Performance have always been cool. Nice score.

Sweet guitar! Performance always had a great rep for having the best necks in the 80's.

                  Great score!

Didn't they build the original "flame" guitar for Steve Vai, or am I confusing them with someone else?

If you look at their website they list Warren deMartini as one of their artists and all his graphics are available. Apparently he used Performance before he went to Charvel, but now he's using Performance again... still listed as a Charvel artist too though
