Guys. I have a prospective trade with a guy that sais he has a USA BC Rich Warlock from around 1987-1989. From What I have seen the serial numbers on USA BC rich guitars start with BC, this one doesn`t. The control layouts on USA Warlocks have 3 controls and a selector switch. The one he has, has 2 controls and a selector switch. Also, his has a Tekeuchi Floyd and I thought the USA`s had Gotoh Floyds? Now the neck is clearly USA. I am not sure if this is a USA neck on an import body? I just want to make sure this guitar is all USA. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

I think I've seen that on some other forum (edit: SD forum).
I'm not an expert, but I have a USA ST-III and it is an awesome guitar. The neck is a solid piece (no scarf joint) and quarter sawn. I think mine came with the same trem.
What are you trading for it?Last edited by DonP; 09-15-2018, 08:48 AM.

Hi Don. Someone else said that the treble side Floyd post looks boogered and missing it`s top? They also said the Floyd nut looks wider than the fretboard and should have bolts thu the neck to hold it on old school style? They also said it looks like it maybe didn`t come with a Floyd originally? Guy wants my Jackson Fusion Professional H-H. It seams nobody wants a sweet Fusion like mine anymore. Use to be people were looking for the one I have because of 2 humbuckers and the trans mahogany body/ Thanks Don.

I can't tell in the pics if the Floyd post is messed up.
The nut does look a little wider.
My ST-III Floyd nut is not drilled through the neck.
I don't think I'd trade the H-H Fusion for that, but that's a tough call. I know you don't like thin necks, the USA BCR's are pretty slim.
Ask yourself if you could have either, which would you like better and why?

looks legit, those trems were used by BCR for a short time, not so great. that looks like a later body as it has the ST-iii control route not the normal warlock route. BCRich used a B, BC, & later a BO prefix on the neck plates. oddly the nut doesn't have the thru bolts, it maybe a later build than what is claimed but it does look like a legit BCR from the "WTF" era, the end of the rico era, beginning of class axe.

I've never been able to figure out what the hell Bernie was doing in the 1980s ( LOL and im not talkin about the socialist politician Bernie.. i mean Bernie Rico ). I think even the guys that love the original neck through instruments get confused after they get past the initial serial number range in the late 1970s or so... in the 1980s BC rich was all over the board as to where they were making them... even had ChuShinGakki ( Japan Charvel ) made stuff for BC...and the members of KISS were endorsed and the instruments they used in the 80s had a weird serial number range too if i remember correctly... Bernie made those in El Monte California
