Is it just me, or is the recessed trem route on these guitars horrible? I don't understand why it so large. Is there some type of technical aspect that I am missing?

Otherwise they are sweet and clean looking axes.

It could be 2 things.

1. It's a route big enough to mount an OFR and other import off brand bridges to give the company options as to what to put in there for money saving purposes............or

2. It gives you alot of room to yank the bar up and shrill to high heaven.

I had one and didn't really notice it. Mine was a late 80's model I bought in 1988.

As long as it works.
