• Gibson flying V

Had mine since '94 and it still rocks.
Especially with the EMG's I got in it.Sounds FAT,Tight,and Focused.Sure it ain't much of a sit-down guitar,but for
kickin' ass onstage it's like the M-60
of guitars. It just feels POWERFUL in the hands....All that mahogany I guess, real substantial feeling.'Course my Charvel is hard to beat for a Strat-style

What do you mean it's not much of a sit-down guitar? How come some people never realize they can put the guitar in the classical position and drape both the wings over your right leg? Are people really that dense?!?

Sure, you can put the V with your leg between it,but alot of people may find it
a pain in the ass having the neck in that angle if you can fancy that.Like it's kinda not the most natural position in the world.Does Word have some problem with the IMPERIAL POWER of the Gibson V?
Sure, maybe it ain't what Vai plays....

I don't know, I've always played my regular Strat-shaped guitars in the classical position between my legs. It always felt weird to do it over just my right leg, so a V also feels great to me sitting down. Plus, I kinda learned that way from my guitar teacher over 15 years ago who played the same way... Mike Romeo from Symphony X.

I also don't get teh whole "V's are unplayable sitting down" ideology. I do what toejam said with my Rhoads. Sure its wing is a bit smaller..but whatever...It's more comfortable to play sitting down than my washburn. and its cooler when standing. V's rule, sitting and standing.

Yeah, I agree. My rhoads is easy to play sitting, the only thing is I don't like having the neck at such a dramatic angle but it is tolerable.
