I had one, back from '97, the lawsuit guitar. I want it back so bad, I traded it for a nice acoustic. Anyone know where I can find one besides ebay? I payed 150$ for mine with case, I would pay up to 400$ for it.

Re: LTD Explorer
I picked one up a few months ago for like $325. Im planning on fixing it up with EMGs and locking tuners and am going to try to make some money off of it. Go over to the esp message board and ask around. If not then its ebay. Wish I could help you out man but I need to make some cash off of mine, if I decided to sell it. Ill just wait to see how it is with EMGs in it.

Re: LTD Explorer
I havent done anything to my explorer yet. Im saving up for EMGs and maybe locking sperzel tuners. So Once I do all that and if I decide to sell it Ill put it up here first or the esp message board. But thats if I need the money for the car I might be getting. Ill let yall know if I decide to sell it or find one for sale.

Re: LTD Explorer
If they take off when the new album comes out I may have to unload mine. If I could make $150-200 more than i paid for it then Id jump for joy. Then maybe I could get like $600-650 if I fix it up good. And If I got 700 thats almost a Jackson SL2H. But most likely Ill never get that for it. oh well

Re: LTD Explorer
600?!? Man, I remember when Music Go Round was blowing those out the door for $250!! Talk about a guitar with INFLATED value! They are by no means a $600 guitar IMHO. Painted bolt-on necks - once again, I could never figure that out. Oh well...enjoy Metalli-freaks!
With the market on US Jacksons these days, you could almost pick up an older Soloist for that kind of change...or a nice bolt on Dinky or something like that. The guitar market is SOOO fickle it's scary!

Re: LTD Explorer
600 isnt insane. Some dude sold one for like 800 I think. I sold this white one I had for $650 in one day. The guitar is worth whatever people will pay for it. They've been discontinued for a few years now and a lot of people really like them and dont dig the Gibson ones so the next best thing is an ESP or LTD. And Id hope I could fix it up nice and sell it for that because Id like to have some money to either put into my car or a 4x12 or save for another Jackson.

Re: LTD Explorer
god thats scary...every here of HAMER. they make explorers that are far better than any LTD & IMO better than ESP & if you think ESP custom Explorers are nice check out a Hamer USA explorer. It amaizes me how ESP/LTD can market guitars so well that people actually think they are so great.
No they arent bad guitars, some are actually really nice ive owned a few. all have been mid late 80's & they were very good guitars, but they were also at that time under $500. while the Jacksons , BCRichs & hamers were all around $1000, thats big difference. but to put ESPs in the same price range as USA Jacksons, USA Hamers ,EBMM, custom shop fenders & higher end gibsons, IS JUST SILLY IMO.

Re: LTD Explorer
I never said they were that great. I just said I hope I can sell one for that. Then I could nab another USA Jackson if I did it right and saved a little. Id love a SL2H. Id be set for guitars with that one. Esp is pretty overpriced but not near as much as Gibson. If I do all that and decide to keep it and it plays good then Ill be just as happy. I think EMGs, locking tuners, and a good fresh set of strings and a set up will make it a pretty decent axe. Id take a Jackson over anything though. I also dig PRS.

Re: LTD Explorer
I have a pre-lawsuit Grass Roots Explorer, with new pickups (some no-name ones... or has anyone here heard of Beyers?).
It plays pretty well but sounds like **** unplugged... I think it's made of plywood.
I might sell it soon if I find a nice Jackson KV...

Re: LTD Explorer
ssshhhhhhh! Dont discourage it. I might need that money. lol. If I can do this right i can end up wit another USA Jackson. I just need to fix this one up and let the market go up a little bit and try to make some cash off of it. But if it plays good and sounds good when Im done with it Ill keep it as a downtuned guitar. but if the market for them goes off Ill sell it and make some money.
If someone thinks its worth $700 then by all means let them pay me $700 for it.

Re: LTD Explorer
I agree with carrot......James Hetfield used Gibson Explorers after he broke his epiphone vintage white v on the stage...and he said that the gibson felt better and sounded thicker than the ESP...and you can get a gibson explorer for 300.00 more than these guys are trying to get for their ltd pieces of crap...sorry...but i guess you can say its.....SAD BUT TRUE!!!!!!
