• Music Man replacement neck

I haven't heard back from GMW yet, but I was wondering if they would make a neck that would fit an Axis. If not, anyone know who would?

Warmoth will do that headstock shape and how ever else you would like them to do the neck, just let them know.
They do have a couple made up for sale on their thrift shop page and give Gregg a call at Warmoth if you have any questions.

Be prepared to spend some $$ if you want Warmoth to make you a neck to fit that Axis. I'll be the first to tout Warmoth's stuff but if it's not standard Fender spec's as far as neck pocket dimentions, bolt pattern (as with the EBMM five bolt pattern), etc..... they charge extra for all that stuff. Of course, Warmoth necks don't come pre-drilled so the five bolt mounting may not be a problem, but I don't know what the neck pocket dimentions are for the EBMM Axis. You would just have to measure and make sure it's gonna fit before you buy it. Warmoth wanted to charge me $15.00 to drill a 1/4" hole that wasn't part of the standard Strat layout!!! I told them I could do that myself. They also were skeptical of routing the recessed Floyd for me without the actual trem that was going to be used there for them to see it.... They are pretty particular about parts compatibility, a good thing for both parties involved... they want to make sure your part is right for your application, and they don't want to have to get it back..... They may not accept returns on special orders like that anyway... best thing to do is ask ALOT of questions, they are always more than happy to help!!

i was kinda disappointed when i realized that my warmoth neck in fact DID come drilled... i didn't ask them to, and i thought it wouldn't be that way. so...if you go that route, make sure to tell em to not drill it.

not to mention, the usual Warmoth aftermarket neck has the truss adjust at the pocket end. This shouldn't be a problem with a MM, but on a strat, it may be something to consider unless it's a direct strat replacement, you'll probably still need to shim.
I had a 21 fret Warmoth replacement installed on my strat, while the truss didn't present a problem overall (it was flush) the neck was slightly more slim than a strat at pocket end.

In some cases, you may need to notch the pocket depending on the # of frets and the neck scale.
I found this to be the case on my 24 fret.

i think that will depend on what style you get... my neck is a jackson style, and the truss adjustment is at the headstock...thankfully!

oddly enough, it was a special order.... i'm gonna have a hell of a time drilling the body for it, but hey, good times!

Hey Sully, did you get your neck out of the thrift shop or was it special ordered?? I got mine from the thrift shop and it wasn't drilled when I got it. I did, however, look at one of the EBMM necks that were mentioned earlier in the thread and saw that at least that one was drilled already. The one EBMM neck looked like it was drilled for a standard Fender neckplate too....
