Anyone have any experience with the Ibanez Prestige RG3120? What did you think? I haven't seen one in person, to play, for a while. But now Musician's Fiend has them for $599. List $1499, retail about $900. I've never dealt with MF before either. I've heard negatives, anyone have a good experience with them?

    Thanks for any info,
    Tim

It's a great guitar and if you can pick one up for $599, I'd jump on it. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've owned one of them and it was a great guitar - I paid $900!

Dealing with MF isn't too bad, but be prepared to shell out the cash for a setup. These large super store chains do not give personal attention when it comes to setting up their instruments.

Also, be prepared to use their return poilicy in case something with the guitar is wrong. I bought an RG620X from them and the wiring was bad (not MF's fault - Ibanez fault.) I had a new guitar within a week.

Thanks for the input guys. I couldn't quite pass it up. I hope that I don't have to utilize their return policy, but I'm going to inspect it thoroughly. The set-up is no big deal, I do my own anyhow.

            Thanks,
            Tim

Not bad guitars for an Ibanez. Nice tops. Trem seems stable (providing yo get one that has the new posts). also if yo uwant to play one a nd like the one you play alot. GC matches MF's prices. providing theres a GC near you.

If you want to save even more. Go to the Music123 and bring up the Ibanez 3120. There is a link that say's "Seen it for less, we'll beat it". Go in there and save some $. I purchased a DKMGT for $369 doing that.

Also, if you're looking for ibanez deals, AMS and guitartrader are selling '02 neck-thru rgt42's for $299. I was honestly suprised at that price.

Now realistically if we beat MF's price we in a sence would be beating our selves would we not? wo yes we match MF's price. But we will beat anybody else's with an add or proof like a printed out webpage with the price on it.
Not to promote GC but i do have to stick up for whats correct.

I ordered from Musicians Friend and received it yesterday. I was paranoid from all the negative that I've heard about Musicians Friend, but they did a great job on my transaction. The guitar is gorgeous and without any issues. It was even set-up properly. A deal for $599, but I'd never have paid the $900+ normal price for it.

                        Thanks for the input guys,

Looks like you were smart not to wait. I just checked the web page and it lists the price at $699. Music123 has it at $699 as well.

$599 was for the trans Red color.
$699 is for the Trans Blue-ish color one.

Also, check out Black Jem is for $699, also Joe Satriani Model JS1000 is less than $700 too.

A local GC around here had the black JEM for about that price, as well. Don't know which of the models it was--the one with the "phillips head" inlays.
