Does anyone know if Performance Guitar in Hollywood still exists? (the maker)
I searched online and was able to find an address and phone number but I am not sure if it is the same company that at one time made necks and bodies.

Hossman, did you buy that Performance from Frank?
I had been looking at it as well, but bought a Soloist from Doc instead.

Performance also made the Steve Vai "Flame" guitar back in the Eighties.

I have a friend in L.A. that said they are still around but moved from their long time location to a location close to Universal Studios. I'm not sure you will like their prices. Don't they charge $3,000 for a complete guitar these days?

                          Re: Performance Guitar

Actually, Steve Vai bought a bunch of parts from Performance and built a bunch of guitars while with David Lee Roth. One of them I believe was the Flame guitar, and then I think Performance sent Vai another one(or 2, or God knows how many lol). Performance had kits like that back then.. dunno if they do now.. but I would love for Performance to make me a copy of that.

As far as I remember, Steve Vai's "Flame" guitar was built by Joe DeSpagni's "Jem" guitar company, who made bizarro custom jobs using Performance parts.
