I was laughing my ass off waiting for you to stuff your foot in your mouth there, Word!! You never dissapoint, thats for sure!

OK, anyhoo, a 24 fret neck will never work on a Stratocaster type body. The last frets will be buried in the body. You would have to modify the heck out of the lower cutaway, WAY more than the Vai thing, and now it would look screwed up.

Ready and waiting with baited breath for your next hero based dream guitar to surface here.

Word, you are a true visionary. It looks as though you are using the best out all the guitars you own and putting it all into the "Word Custom" axe. Thats a good idea. I'm sure that if there were any limitations Lee would let you know. By the way, the second Godzilla pic would be the best. I got an idea for inlays. Put Godzilla's head on the first frett and have him breathing fire down to the 24th fret. That sounds cool and expensive. Or you can do like Mick 7 from Slipknot and instead of "HATE" inlays you could have "WORD". Ya think?

Erm.. yeah, Chuck.. you got me there.. you seriously and totally got me.

I never did get that good at Japanese, but I do remember reading from a recent dictionary that Worudu is Japanese for word.. but probably not as a name. Anyway, maybe it was taken from the English language recently.. seeing how it resembles an english word.

But yeah, if the 24 fret thing doesn't work, then I'll just get him to make it using a soloist style body instead.

Also.. I'm still not completley dead set on getting Lee to build me an entirely new one. I'm still open to the other guitars I had mentioned(JP models, the Green Meanie, etc.)

If there is any way you could get by with 22 frets, I really think you would be impressed with the GMW Vai machine as it is.
I'm a tad biased as I have been all the way around the block with guitars and have realized that, for me, GMW rules the roost.

It's good to see so many positive replies on GMW in this and other posts. I just ordered an axe from Lee and can't wait to get it. Everything I have seen and heard about GMW has been positive. And Lee has been a great person to work with on this axe. One thing I can tell you Word is that he may tell you to go with a more stable wood than flame maple for the neck if you want a Wizard II neck profile. I'm getting flamed maple on mine and wanted a thin Jackson neck and he suggested I go with a thicker profile since the neck is less stable with the flamed maple. It might be more doable on a bolt on though.
We must!
We must!
We must increase the bust!
The bigger the better!
The tighter the sweater!
The boys are counting on us!

Good God man that graphic is gonna cost an arm and a leg!! You would probably have to have covered pickups too in order for the graphic to be painted over the pickups to look right. I'd go for something with a bit more longevity, because personally I'd most likely get sick of having Godzooky on my guitar for years and years.

What nut width? Isn't the green meanie rep. a
.1-5/8" nut width I personally am not into a 1-5/8" nut width. My fat little fingers just don't do open chords well on them. I need at least 1-11/16".

Why not to try Fender HM strat that Greg Howe plays.
It has 24frets and has Floyd and strat type body.

Ask Lee what he thinks of 24frets on Strat body.
You will need some heel cut for sure and maybe neck thru will be good option(like the Carvin you want).

Also, another choice is to get a used 80's Carvin that already has Jackson type headstock,Kahler trem.Send the guitar to Lee and retop the body with 5A Maple, put nicer inlays, and refinish the body with the color you want(maybe the graphic Carvin Jason has). Also put Dimarzio.

So you will have your Jason Becker Carvin.

the Fender HM Strat had a modified Strat body, which accomodated 24 frets. I don't think it's 7/8 size, like the Dinky/Soloist, but it is shaped more like a Dinky body than a regular strat.
