New Ibanez trem

I just played a white Satch... donno how to spell his name, but you know what i mean. It had a pretty neat trem on it. The fine tuners were located a lot further back than normal, so when doing a reverse trem, you won't palm the fine tuners. It stays in tune pretty well!

Anyone seen one? It's all silvery, and it looks like the string blocks on it are like a half inch long. I couldn't figure out how to take off the trem arm. Maybe there was a way to do it in the control cavity in the back or something. I liked it a lot. Anyone else play one?

Yeah, I saw one of these the other day.... I don't know about them yet... Time will tell, I guess.. Looks more like an Edge but basically still the same design as the LO-POS trem [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] .. The guitar I saw it on was a pretty sweet (for an Ibanez) neck-thru RG of some type.. Pretty good looking flame maple top (looked like VERY thin vaneer), see thru finish on the back with a five piece laminated neck-thru neck with a HUGE volute [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] on it.. Not a bad looking guitar but definately NOT a Soloist!!

Well after dealing with a Lo-Pro edge all this time on my RG250DX (which constantly goes out of tune about once every 3 days), this thing seemed awesome. I've never actually worked with a trem that you can divebomb all the way, and not have to retune it o.O I loved it lol. Ima definately see if i can get one installed into my RG if they become available on the market soon.

That's the new Edge Pro systems, and yes they are supposed to be A LOT better than the other trems. I haven't tried one yet though.

He has the Lo-TRS. Not ONE Lo Pro Edge was ever put on an RG 250, or pretty much any Korean Ibanez that I've seen.

Edge tremolo systems were only put on RG series 500 and UP.

The patent expired, that's the whole reason why Ibanez designed an entirely new tremolo system.

Well it says Lo-Pro on the tab thing. Oh well. Maybe i have a messup or something lol. It does look exactly like a Low Trs and everything. The trem blocks are worn a bit, and so are the locking nuts. Crappy material i guess?

What makes one trem crappier than the other? Just the materials used? I like the new edge trem A LOT.

Word, that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Because Floyds patent ran out, that is why Ibanez designed an entire new trem?? If Ibanez had designed their own trem, they never would have had to pay Floyd for actually designing their starting point. The only thing that has changed is that Ibenhad doesn't pay Floyd anymore for their sorry trem systems. More like Ibanez has been copying Floyds for years, and now they don't have to put the 'licensed by' on any of their POS trems. Ibanez has made several variations on the Floyd and many mods that they consider 'improvements' and to some players they are actual improvements. The simple fact is that Ibanez may have some good designs, but they make them out of the cheapest, lightest, crappiest pot metal that there is. Just think about touching an Ibanez trem and it pits and corrodes. I would at least respect their trems if they made them out of a decent grade of steel.

they are just trying to do something different, just like floyd himself, with the whole speed loader thing.

i have had several edge trems, low pro (on my 7 string) and when i had 550's had the regular edge, and i couldnt make it go out of tune.

I just checked out one of the new Ibanez RG370DXM's? I hope I'm close because that's what it said on the tag. It has the new trem on it. I plugged it in and it sounds pretty decent for stock. It has a loud as hell unplugged sound. I figure it's due to the amount of metal on the trem as opposed to the Low TRS. Plugged in and distorted the way I like it it was pretty cool. Almost cool enough to want to buy it. It was set up very well and locked down. I whammied my arse off and it was still in tune. I give it 2 thumbs up.

saw one the other day. something odd about it, if you push it all the way down, and look underneath it, you can leave the ball ends attached and still clamp it. they rest in these little plastic, yes i said plastic, seats, you can see the ball ends if you look under there.

they also have another trem out, that works kinda like a kahler, where it pivots on a central spot, and it centers it'self so you can pull down then up, but it kinda rests in a neutral spot where you can detune without dorking with it.. looked really neat. will have to play with it some..

I'm going to buy an Ibanez RG370DX when I get back to work. I need a beater. I figure with some decent pickups it should do alright. I've had a few Ibanez guitars over the years and have been pleased with them. The RG370DX I played sounded pretty darn good.
