I own a Jackson, a Fender, a Gibson and an Agile and I love them all and have no problems with any of them or the companies they came from. BTW don't bash me on the Agile, my mother came to visit for Easter and insisted on buying me a guitar so I wanted the price to be low for her sake and The Agile is actually a great guitar for the money.
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

Kamo, I don't really know what Ibanez is using for pickups these days but the two that I have (a Petrucci P1 and a Cracked Mirror graphic) both have Dimarzio pickups which sound great.
I assume most of there RG series are using Ibanez pickups though.

Re: Kwestion about the other guitar companies

Well I've never actually played a guitar that felt and looked like over 1000 dollars to me. I played that 7 string JEM with the triangle, and mirror pickguard. *shrugs* It felt cool to play and everything, but I don't think it was worth more than 800. The price tag said 2250! o.O I will never pay that much for any guitar unless it's custom built for me. Sure it was custom built for Vai, but since its in production to the public, i really don't think it should be worth that much.

>.< I'm not trying to be mean about the quality. I think they're great! But for the price not even an RR1 could tempt me into paying that much for a guitar, unless i was rich like all you guys lol.

Nothing beats an Ibanez.

Re: Kwestion about the other guitar companies

Ibanez uses Dimarzio pickups, most of which are specifically made for them by Dimarzio.

You know, I love this forum and I spend a lot of time here, but I have owned several Jacksons over the years and none of them have ever really made me think that I had a really killer guitar in my hands. I've always tried so hard to make Jackson my main baby, because I've always been a Charvel fan and figured that if I love my Charvels so much, the Jacksons must be even better. Unfortunately, every Jackson I've owned (about 6 of them) has been crap in comparison to my Charvels.
I have some real ESPs that are great, but they did cost a lot of money. My ESP Kamikaze IV Custom Shop was ordered back in the day when it was first introduced to the market and came in at $3600!!! My Skulls & Snakes was $1700 (but it plays and sounds so damn good, it's now priceless). My Serpent is a very killer guitar, but I'm not quite sure why ESP decided to use a Floyd Rose II on it unlike all the other Lynch Signature Series, that kind of pisses me off a little. My Charvel 750XL was built by god himself.
On to Ibanez = Say what you want about them, but they are by far the best value for the money in the used market when it comes to the normal "player" models (RG5xx, RG7xx)-- Forget about those junk ass models below the RG5xx series that have that damn Lo-TRS trem, that thing is garbage. I can make an Ibanez Edge trem play itself they are so easy to set up (if you know what you're doing) --- I've acquired between 20-25 Ibanezes this year alone (some were traded away or sold, but most were kept). I get a lot of these from trade deals, eBay, HC, etc... -- One thing I realize when I get a guitar is that 99.9% of all guitarists have no clue how to set up a guitar. Every single one I have ever received has been set up so poorly, I can see why no one thinks they are a great guitar. Same with any brand, not just Ibanez.
I agree that the new Ibanezes are high priced, but look at the new Jacksons, so are they.
I don't want to get into the whole quality debate here, cause in the end, it's all just wood to me. I'm not a collector, but a player that just has lots of guitars.
I could care less about what pickups come in a stock guitar, cause I always rip 'em out and put in EMGs, so that means nothing to me. I could care less how a guitar is set up, cause very few people can set them up right, so I'll just do that myself too. Give me a good neck and a decent body with a killer trem and I'll make it scream. Ibanez just seems to be able to deliver this to me for less jack than anybody else does in the used market. Maybe I'll try another Jackson again in the future, but when I do the comparison, I just can't seem to justify it.
<COMPARISON= x amount of cash to purchase decent Jackson knowing it probably won't play or feel nearly as good as my Ibanezes = or same x amount of cash equals TWO good Ibanezes that I know shred for days.>
Remember, you're judged by the company you keep...
Satriani, Vai, Skolnick, Petrucci == If you shred hard enough, you'll eventually play an Ibanez.
HAHAHA!
