hahahahaha!
I didn't realize Ibanezes were the only import guitars... Jeez, maybe I should throw my Charvel 750XL in the trash??
Here I thought it was a killer guitar.

It's a joke

Anyhow, when Ibanez figures out a way to go back in time and ship me the trem I ordered in two weeks rather than 3 months, then I'll stop bashing them. Until then....

Re: Kwestion about the other guitar companies

I picked up an RG 550 at a guitar show that had a broken tremolo pivot screw. The kid sold it to me cheap because he said he couldn't get a replacement screw for it, I laughed and figured I would have it up and running in two or three weeks. I had to order a set of screws (no biggie) so says my local Ibanez dealer. After 2 months wait I started looking around. The only guy I found that had any was an online Ibanez dealer, he said he only had 6 sets in stock, so if I wanted a set, they would run me $50. I decided to wait for the local guy a little longer. Eventually 6 months had passed and I finally found a set on eBay for $10. I fixed and sold the guitar and finally two months later (a total of 8 months) my screws finally came in at the dealer. Next time I will just part the guitar out.

I think people listen to people who had crap made low end models then generalize the entire line...you are not going to get the same quality of a $179 import as you you would on the $1200 model. Guitar making is competitive and boils down to dollars, so mfgs look for ways to cut costs. I see Ibanez slammed here a lot, I had a nice 760 that I owned for years and never ad one problem with it. I love Fender's and old Kramers too...I prefer Charvels and Jackson as they have a pretty consistent quality through their entire line. That said....doesnt mean that there are no issues with any of them, import or USA custom shop.

I'll chime in by asking a question...

Why are there Chevy guys, Dodge guys, and Ford guys??

It's more or less the same thing. We can all argue about what is the better brand of car, guitar, or cereal bar. (HA! I'm a poet!) It's all about feedom of choice and backing up that choice with a ferocity that demonstrates your resolve.
