Someone was talking about these a few weeks back and it got me really looking into them. Is there a huge difference between the USA one and the Korean one? How much are both? I really liked the Wolfgang special blue quilt top. Im having a tough time finding people who sell them online so im basing prices on ebay. I figure the USA one is over $1000 and the wolfgang special is around $600-700. Anyone have a blue quilt top special? Do the specials play good?

Well there's usa standards and usa specials and usa special flame tops. I WOULD NOT buy the korean garbage. A usa special goes for about $400. I have an issue of peavey's magazine Monitor,it has all the EVH models with complete lists of colors,finishes, and a lil' bit about the differences in each model.I don't know how to post but if you would like I could e-mail the pages to you! It don't have prices but a buddy of mine just purchased a new 2002 wolfgang for $1095!

Dont worry about it man. I think the $1050 is a bit too much id just go ahead and buy a soloist instead. I was looking good mid range priced guitar. thanks folks.Comment

I have a Peavy Wolfgang Purple Flametop Artchtop and it sounds and plays incredible!!!!!!!!!!
Please note that my main guitar is a San Dimas Koa w/ Floyd and a San Dimas III Green Maple over Walnut w/Floyd loaded w/Tone Zone /Chopper/Fast Track pups....
The Peavey is a lot more ballsier than the both but I bought it new and never play it.....because It's too pretty [img]graemlins/eyes.gif[/img] I'll record with it though....I was considering selling it but everytime I play it I fall in love with the damn thing....Doug Scarrat from Saxon wanted this damn guitar....I said NO [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]
I might consider a trade or / partial trade towards an Uberschall or VHT head. That's the only way I'll part with it.
I think I want another Uber but really don't feel like paying full-boat for another one .
I like the Artchtop Wolfies [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

I love the way the carvin sounds but the wolfie just has that bottom to it. Play unchained on a wolfie and you're hooked. I have a 1st run Peavey Special QT exp in the blue quilt top finish with the binding. It is a great guitar and is an incredible value for the money. You are right. They are EXTREMELY difficult to find because it is an export model that was mainly supposed to support the Euro market. THe way you can tell that mine is a 1st production model is simple. It doesn't have the Eddy branded in signature on the back of the neck. The reason for this is because the branding machine didn't arrive in Korea in time befor the 1st shipment went out. This fact was confirmed by Peavey to me via email when I first bought it. I bought it the first day it was available in the USA. It has the Floyd with the Drop D tuna. As far as tone/playability and construction is concerned I really don't see any difference unless you are talking about the early EBMM quilt tops which are extremely rare and very expensive.It is probably the best $600.00 approx guitar you could possible purchase. The pickups scream, the balance is perfect, the Floyd really works, the D-tuna is great and it looks beautiful. If you are interested I will sell or trade it to you for something.Comment

sounds like peavey makes some cool stuff. Got any pics of your blue quilt top special? I need to sell some stuff or get a job to make some more cash. How much would you sell it for? Im not like a guitar collector so I dont have anything amzing.
Only thing Id trade is a old style esp LTD black explorer I bought from someone on this board. I was going to fix it up and put EMGs in it and if it played good I was gonna keep it or sell it and save for a USA Jackson or something else cool. email me at [email protected]
