Re: Peavey wolfgang

16, peavey wolfgangs are the shiott. I havent been able to put down my new black standard, it really does have an incredible sound to it, it makes any amp sound better it seems! The specials are extremely close to the standards, but I cant stress how much cooler the birdseye maple looks than the plain specials.... and that arched top.....I would trade this guitar ONLY for an RR1T, only because it has been my wet dream axe since I was 14.

I own 5 Wolfy Standards, 1 Special, and 4 Ernie Ball units - {2 Axis and 2 EVH Signature Models}...The Wolfgang Standards can be had for a STEAL these days, as the DOG DREK Korean Models {or is that dog EATER ?? } have REALLY DEPRESSED the market on Wolfs in general...The Peaveys AND the EBMM guitars are BOTH GREAT players, but {at LEAST IMHO}, Eddie went from SUGAR to SH!T when he made the move from Ernie Ball to Peavey...

Dang the more I hang around here the more I want to spend more money on guitars. Everytime I think Im safe someone brings up something new or that I havent really paid attention to. You guys kill me.
thanks folks and Ill just start saving and saving till I get $600 and then looked for a good used one or just keep saving and if I save enough then I might have enough for another USA guitar.

I don't agree. I have a Korean QT special and it is a great guitar. Sure, no birdseye. Big deal. At a third of the price of a EBMM it is a steal for sure. It does everything that any other Wolf does. There is not a single bad thing I could say about it. IMHO there is not a single difference in sound and playability between a special and a standard. I actually prefer the flat top over the arch top. Also the combination of the basswood body and the maple cap really gives it a powerful punchy "in your face" tone. The Floyd and the D-tuna work perfectly. The pickups sound exactly like any other wolf that I have played. THe only real difference that I could see is the quality of the case. The standards and the EBMM's have beautiful cases.

Well OK then.....I never played any of them but mine so I can't say ....You played them both ...you know more about it than I.

Yeah all my guitars are slab bodies ....The Artchtop is definately a different feel but not different where so where can't adjust in minutes...Plus they're pretty ......having something different is cool sometimes . Plus the Artchtop gives it a nice Paul tone ....but with alot more punch in the upper mids...IMO
