• anyone familiar with ESP KH2?

hi guys, is there a difference between older model kh2 and current production model kh2 guitars? i heard that a 1994 model for example had a different logo script on the headstock, and the kirk hammet painted signature was non-existent back then (they only put k.h) on it. if this is true, when did they change it to the current type?

i understand that these guitars nowadays come with a certificate of authenticity with kirk's signature. did they issue these certificates with the older models, specifically in 1997?

I have a 98 modell and it came without a certificate.
Nevertheless, it's the real deal.

The KH-2 new version are Bolt-on, wheras all of Kirk's are neck-thru. And yeah, they used to be neck-thru, but aren't anymore

i went to the esp japan site and kirk's esps are not really standard issue kh2s... there are the MM something models... anyway that's not really the issue here.. i'm more interested in finding out if they issue certificates of authenticity with kirk's signature ever since the start of esp's kh2 line..

yes. the black with white pickguard. the first ESP sig he had. it was just a total rip off of his fernandes and gibson flying V's that you can see him using on Clif'em All. It rules. When I think old school thrash..I see kirk busting out Metal Militia. ahhh, the good ole days.

Not a total ripoff...it had a Floyd Rose and the "dancing devil" inlays.
