well, the original year they were gold to purple sunburst (no red or yellow), i've played one of those and it played better than it looked...d.m.

I would stay away from this guitar. ESP has really cut corners on the new Lynch models. The back of the body is not painted and I have heard a lot of bad things about the neck. This guitar is also all maple so it sounds very bright. I ordered a similiar guitar that Lee Garver is building for me from GMW for less money.

yes time, even the kh2 production models are NOTHING like kirk's real guitars. so i won't be surprised about the same thing going on for lynch's models.

however the graphics look stunning.. in fact i think the LTD looks better than the esp version. just something to drool over.. haha.. no thoughts of getting the ESP version. maybe the ltd version if it comes cheap

Re: ESP george lynch sunburst tiger

i have the ltd lynch tiger, and it plays very very well....but........lol

i had to take the neck off and put back on myself as there was a choker on the b string at about 20th fret...

it plays like a dream now and looks great, over here in england the esp's are way over priced..
the ltd tiger cost me a grand when i 1st got her.the oficial lynch esp model is too expensive(nearly 3 grand)not worth it

korean made but inspected in america, will have to see if i can track down the inspector who let that neck slip by quality control and apply serious presure to his neck with my bare hands

Re: ESP george lynch sunburst tiger

You know, the LTD series is really hard to understand. First of all, it's great that so many people think they are crap because actually, right off the shelf, they do really play like crap. They are not setup by any means and they action is non-existent.
I own two LTDs (a sunburst tiger and an MH-201)
and they both KICK ASS. When I first got them, I thought the same thing that everybody else did, that they sucked and all that.. cause they did.
I sat down with them both and had a long hard talk with them (aka; set them up correctly) and now they really are some of the best playing guitars in my collection. (My collection does consist of a few REAL ESP Lynch Models, several Charvels (including a 750XL) and many Ibanez RG5xx/RG7xx series guitars.
The LTDs are great because you can pick them up for next to nothing and then set them up to play as good or better than a real ESP. I've swapped the pickups out of mine just cause I'm weird about pickups (EMGs in the MH-201 and Screamin' Demon/Hot Rails in the Tiger) -- the stock pickups actually did sound pretty damn good though. One tip - Don't try putting a real Floyd Rose into the LTD series without properly routing the body for it first!! <Yes, I tried, but save yourself the trouble and aggrivation of paint chipping!!>

agree mate but i think the stock pickups sound fine in the tiger..and that single coil is just the biz for a great woody blues tone..sorted tone

esp have a problem to be honest with their necks and setups..but if you do it yourself (you shouldnt have too..lol)one hell of an axe

and the ltd tiger looks great, over there you can pick these up for next to nothing!!!do it..then set it up yourself..and a cheap great sounding(and looking)axe
