I just placed my first GMW order!!!!

Alder Charvel body in cobalt blue
Hum-Hum (Alnico II Pro and a Custom)
rear routed controls
recessed OFR
1 11/16" nut
maple/rosewood neck
6105 frets
1 volume 1 tone with push/push pots that split the humbuckers.
Empire fitted case ($45 upcharge over standard case)

I just wanted to thank everyone who has answered my questions over the last several weeks. Your answers really helped me design this guitar. You guys are the best. [img]graemlins/notworthy.gif[/img]

As soon as my attorney gets my former employer to settle I plan on putting in my order. After the post about the Jack Butler Jackson I want to do that one as well as a Warren DiMartini skull and blood graphic. Can't wait.

what is their payment policy? is it similar to when you order a U.S.A jackson from a retail store? like paying 15 or 25 percent of the total cost up front. and the rest when its done or something?

I'm just curious about how this works.

The Empire cases in the words of Lee "...look like they are worth way more than the $45 dollar upcharge. They come with double combo locks instead of a simple key latch and black "poodle" velvet interiors. These cases are very clean and pro looking."

I really wanted the fitted case so I decided to go with this.

Lee asks for 50% up front which I think is pretty standard for custom makers in general. At least this has been the case with most I've talked with.
Also, the deposit is *non-refundable*.

I ordered a GMW neck thru about a month and a half ago. Lee is pleasure to work with and I can't wait to see the finished product. I'm going to have him build a BC Rich arch top Beast replica. It's gonna have all the options. 5A flamed maple top, flamed maple neck, custom abalone inlays, abalone body and headstock binding and etc.. etc... etc... She will be the most beautiful ugly guitar there ever was.

Will do dude. Lee said not to expect it well past March of next year so it is going to be a while. I had Matt at OSG get a quote from BC Rich on it, but after several attempts he never heard back from them. Not sure what is going on with the Rich custom shop. But it sure sounds like, while Jackson is getting better, Rich is going downhill. Moving the custom shop to Ohio didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling when I first heard it anyhow. So I'm not really surprised. Anyhow, I think Lee will probably do a better job. I got the Paua abalone I am getting Lee to use a couple of weeks ago. The stuff looks awesome. It's going to be a tough long wait.
