Thanks guys. Word, I have 2 favorites...the two black ones on each end. Pete (xxxcreaturexxx) sold me the one on the right, and it's a USA bolt on model that plays great and sounds really good too. The other one is a Korean import '79 Series that is just killer. The white one is a close 2nd.

Thanks bro'. Nice BC Rich you have there, too.

My Dean collection is slowly catching up to my Jackson/Charvel one.

Thanks Lev. I just got the one in the middle (blue one) last week. It's a neck-thru and has some sort of exotic top on it...it's not maple. The former owner said he had not seen another like it in the 8 years he owned it.

                    I love ML's.

I'm saving up for a '79F ML right now. I might be able to own it by December.

THATS AWESOME....how many of those are the OLD ones & which ones are new or reissues. i had an 81 ML with zebra stripes, & that green one looks alittle funny compared to the rest of them.

Re: Here\'s a group shot of my Dean ML\'s....

Thanks guys for your nice comments. I actually used ML's in the early 80's before switching to Jackson/Charvel. Now I am playing both. I really love the old Deans, but none of these are old ones, actually. The black one on the left, and the white one are brand new reissues and are Korean made. They have the same specs as the original '79 Deans, and they feel nearly identical to the vintage ones I used to have. They are Honduras mahogany bodies and necks. You can get them brand new WITH hardshell case for less than $500. Really great deal.

The blue one that looks funny was built during the "Tropical" era of ownership, and the owner made some changes to the original design. They are neck-thru, have smaller bodies, skinnier wings and headstock, and the toggle switch is by the knobs rather than on the wing like the originals. The black one on the right was also made during this time period but is a USA guitar.

The 2 bursts are from the "Select" series which came before the new "79 Series" and was replaced by it. The Selects are also not exactly correct in their dimensions as the originals, but are very nice guitars and very well made.

The yellow one is the only one like it that exists. It was built in Florida for the '98 NAMM show. The current owner of Dean Guitars told me that he used to own the Dean Cadillac that matched my ML, but he has since gotten rid of it.

If anyone here has a vintage Dean they'd be willing to part with, I have an '86 Jackson San Dimas Strat in nearly mint condition that I'd be willing to trade. (ML's, Z's or V's...not really into the Caddies) Thanks.
