in a word, parker flys @$#@$^#$()rule. loved em since they only had one model, which became the deluxe. once you get used to the feel of them (incredibly light, and that upper cutaway can be uncomfy), you'll not want to put it down. they sound like a beast (that's good), and play wonderfully.
Jsullysix!
Yeah the top horn does poke you if you carry it high. You can tell Ken designed the back of the guitar to form fit a person of his size. I'm sure he has no problem with it jabbing him.
I've gotten used to it now. I dont notice really anymore.
And as far as the light weight?
I love it. May feel fragile. But, this is one tough guitar. That exoskeleton is amazing.
that could be it; i've only played them sitting down... i keep my guitars low, but not korn low. i'm with ya on the fragility viewpoint, but yeah, they're pretty solid. i'd love to have one, but there's a ton of others as well. nice to see a fellow fly fan.

Why wouldnt Ken put something more playable on his "ultimate guitar"
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">No way your going to get away from that with the Fly. A big part of the strength of the neck is the
Carbon/fiber exoskeleton that's layed on the back of the neck and body.
With out that, parker would not be able to use basswood for the neck. Which is a big reason the guitar is so light.
Then once the exoskeleton is baked on. They then prime, paint and clear coat the guitar.
Parker does have a customshop now.
I dont know if their offering other neck woods.
If they do, you may be able to go with a unfinished maple neck of something, thus by passing the need for the exoskeleton on the neck section.
But, the guitar is going to be much heavier. Plus, might be neck heavy as well.
