• Just ordered some new pickups :D

yeppers, i finally got off of my butt... and sat back down at the computer, and bought the JB TB-4, and a Hot Rails ^.^ Woohoo! can't wait till they come in!

My dad's friend brought in his basswood strat, and it had the JB in it, and i played it through my bass amp with my POD on it, and i was blown away at how much better it sounded o.O After that, i couldn't stand the muddyness of my Ibanez Powersound stocks lol. Soooooo ya, got one of those.

I played an SL3, and that's where i got the hotrail idea. I wasn't sure though, cuz i didn't know if the soloist was made from basswood, maple, or whatever, so i looked around some more, and lucky me, found another Ibanez RG270 *same as my 250DX, only purple, and without a pickguard*, and it had a Hotrails in it. So i tried it out, and yep, just what i wanted

Soooooooo yep! I think i made a smart choice ^.^ Anyone know if they'll sound good together blended? *gonna have to look up some more diagrams*

The sL3 also has a JB in the bridge, and it has an Alder body, did you like the sound of it? I think the JB has to much Mids and Highs for me, but has one of the best Pinch Harmonic sounds in the Biz Jack.

I loved the sound of the JB in the SL3. I'm thinking of which guitar i'm gonna install the pickups in. I may just put them both in my RG, but i could put the JB in my GRX, and make that thing sound like a monster Cuz its made of alder as well, and it sounds awesome unplugged, so i've come to the conclusion that the problem lies within the pickups.

I donno. What do u think? Should i put the JB in the Alder GRX20, or in the Basswood RG250DX along with the Hotrails?

The same pickup will sound different in different guitars...a JB in my Ibanez sounds great but in my Rhoads it sounds not so good...

Plus the fact that the SL3 didn't have a pickguard, and it had a few more cavities. I know it'll bring me a sort of new sound all together, but i'm hoping i'll like it.

My guess is it will sound very bright, with the ceramic magnets, but it may be your thing Jack.
