Re: Gibson Faded SG opinions

hey im j2379 & im not bias toward non Jacksons. Most of my guitars are old BCRich & they all have flaws. I can deal with imperfections but i cant deal with guitars that just dont play well & dont sound good unplugged. IMO lower model gibsons just dont compare to thier big brothers. As for QC most USA hamers ive seen werent perfect. There are flaws i look for in certain guitars that i know the factory never did perfect. Jack check around the neck joint of your older set neck hamers. alot had a certain tooling mark/ flaw that is not really noticable but its there.

I agree about the older Hamer`s, especiall from the 80`s-early nineties, they had the neck joint see thru ot the glue thing. Some even had the checking and side of the fretboard laquer lift, I agree with you, but I am talking post-1997 Hamer`s when they moved, they fixed all of those other problems and are almost perfect now, but most are eye candy types now, not like their cool shredders they use to make. I have a 1984 Blitz with the Hockey Headstock and a 1986 TLE, both with Kahler Pro`s.Jackson has had some issues also, but I have never had one on my Jackson`s My Carvin`s have been perfect also Jack.

BM, quality control has always been my biggest turnoff from Gibson`s. I have played some nice ones, but so many i did play had real QC issues, I just don`t get that Jackson-Hamer-Carvin would never be allowed to get away with that type of lack of QC Jack.
