• Music Man Steve Morse model opinions

Has anyone here tried (or own) one of these? You can get one at a pretty steap discount so I'm trying to find a shop nearby that has one for me to try. Just wondering how they compare to the JPM model.

I've never tried one, but I've always wanted one! I love the four pickup setup with all the toggle switches! Where can you get one for a steep discount? Is it the one with the Floyd or regular stoptail?

Stop tail. Well, you can get them under $1000 on eBay occasionally. They seem to be discounted more than the Axis model. Guess that isn't a very steep discount. Sometime I just exaggerate to pass the time.

I bought mine, new, and love it. It is the most versatile guitar I've ever played - it can handle almost anything. My only gripe is the bridge pickup, it's starting to annoy me...I'm going to swap it for a Duncan Custom.
Mine is the stop tail model and it plays like a champ. Very fast neck, low action and(IMO) the most comfortable of the EBMM necks. It compares to a Petrucci in name only...the Morse eats that dog.
Be careful with all the switches and toggles, it can get confusing at first, especially the bridge to neck pickup change. Full down is bridge, middle is neck!? I guess I don't have Morse's touch or something.

I think I like the Axis the least of all the MM models. How is the neck in comparison to the JPM, which I like a lot.

The only one I've played is the Axis, and I thought it was awesome, but one day I will have a Steve Morse model. I have a diagram of the wiring of what all the switches do for the four pickups, and it is a little confusing, but I dig it!!

I played one and I thought it was awesome! The only thing I didn't like was the pickguard

Whatever kind of pickups are in it ,well they were screamin.

The humbuckers are DiMarzio Steve Morse models (DP200 and DP205), DiMarzio DP108 vintage single coil, and a custom single coil.

The Morse neck is nothing like the JPM. It is flatter than an Axis, but not as flat as the JPM. Imagine a tele that shreds and you've got the Morse. It's a great neck.

Very cool guitar. The only reason that I got rid of mine, was the placement of one of the toggle switches. It is in the worst place possible.

I want one too... I got my first Axis from Jimmy B, and that sent me down the Music Man road. Jimmy still plays and loves his Morse despite my feeble attempts to draw it from his grasp... I'd like to get one of every model EB/MM makes to tell the truth... P'rolly don't need any more Axis's (Axi?) though

I expected you to chime in here, Jim. I'm glad you're still digging the Axis - it's a sweet machine.
As for the Morse...it stays here.
