This is my first win after a year of trying! I should be getting the axe within a week or two. I've had the opportunity to play one just yesterday. I know what I'm getting myself into so it's no mystery. Saved over 50% too.

Thanks Toejam. This axe is going to be alot of fun. It will go well with the ABBA tribute band I just formed. We decided against doing Tom Jones stuff. We are afaraid we might have the same effect on women that Tom does. Our wives will get mad and won't let us play anymore. Tomorrow we are going to work on "Dancing Queen". ....and yes, we are realy going to thrash "Dancing Queen". We are thinking of a heterosexual version of The Village people too. We all live in the Village of Tularosa New Mexico so that classifies us as actual village people. I am an Animal Control Officer for real so my charector would replace the cop in the real village people. My bassist is a lumber salesman so he will replace the construction worker in the real Village People. So, to sum it all up, we will be The Heterosexual Village People and play thrash metal versions of old ABBA songs. I guess I can get the sewer plant operator to be the sailor. You might be surprised by the Dean humbuckers. I had the EVO Phantom (now the EVO Noir I think, same guitar) and the pickups were pretty impressive. Actually, the guitar as a whole was way better than what I expected, but alas, I found that the LP shape was not for me.Comment

That's what I hear Inazone. I read through a few reviews on the Phantom models on harmony central. I plan to use this guitar for drop D only. I have noticed when pickups are hot, drop tunings get kinda muddy. Back when I had an Ibanez RG7420 I thought the stock pickups weren't enough until I played the same guitar with Invaders in it. Mud city! I'll get to know them a while before I drop the hammer on an XL500. I love Dimebag's tone on Vulgar Display and Far Beyond Driven. I'd like to get close to that without being exactly like him. My fledgling new band I'm getting together will be playing a few Pantera songs as well as the before mentioned ABBA classics. I've always thought Dean Guitars were pretty cool. I've played on them a couple of times, briefly, but not enough to make a complete decision, but I did like the one I tried out. I am interested in learning more about them.
But, did you notice the reflection on the headstock? Kind of looks like the Amityville Horror house to me. Granted, I may be smoking crack, or, I may be drinking beer. One is more likely than the other, but be that as it may...
