• Looking for a V similar to Y2KV specs

I've been wanting a rounded body V lately, 24 frets, preferrably TOM bridge/string-thru or with stoptail, or even hardtail. Anybody got a lead on any such model, or perhaps even a Y2KV?

Hmm, I checked their site, but I only saw a pointy V. Would they do a rounded body?

Dude, look for a Used hamer USA Vector, they are great guitars and either had the Sustain Block Bridge or could have been special ordered with various trems, the Gibson V can`t touch it and the Vector came stock with Low/wide frets!! Jack.

I actually emailed Greg at BCR about a custom Hamer V or Firebird, but he said Hamer won't do a neck-thru (though, a set-neck would be fine with me), and they don't offer 24 frets. I don't really care what scale length it is, but I'd like to have the extra 2 frets.

Kevin has some new ones, if you have the dough. I have not seen another rounded V from another company that is like Y2KV. Very cool guitars.

Cool. Thanks, KVX. Kevin's prices do seem a little steep, though.

ya Toejam, Hamer Is/Was a big 22 fret guitar maker and I know the old Vectors were for sure, I had a 1981 in Black with a Sustain Block bridge. Did you see all of the Korina Vectors on the HFC lately- Jack.

Yeah, Jack, I've seen quite a few of those Korina Vectors on the Hamer board lately.

I think I may actually go with Warmoth. They've got a V body, and I found out they have a 24-fret short scale neck that's not listed on their site. I sent them an email and got a quick reply earlier, and they've got a 24-fret 24.75" scale neck, but they charge and extra $50 to have the body short-scaled to match that neck. Or they have the standard 24-fret extension neck for 25.5" scale that overlaps where the neck pickup would be, and they charge $50 to have the neck pickup repositioned. I think I'm gonna go with the short scale since it doesn't get in the way of the neck pup, it only overhangs as much as the standard 22-fret neck. The only thing is their guitars use bolt-on necks... not that big of a deal really, but I'd prefer set-neck or neck-thru.

That's pretty cool, except I don't like Kahlers, though.

Don't torch me, but I bought an import Hamer Vector, replaced the pickups..and I love it. It rocks hard for the little bit of cash it cost, balances well. The top is like photo flame, but it looks good. Oh yeah it actually stays in tune as well. But you better like cherry sunburst.

Ya man, the top end Hamer Imorts are very good guitars for the money, no torching here, just change the pickups, and sometimes the tuners and you one great guitar Jack.

Could be a KK, especially with the semi-pointed headstock, the Vector had the square headstock like the Specials and Sunbursts, I beleive you may be right. I love the Kahler Pro, I don`t see what people don`t like about them, you can have them set up like a Floyd, I have one set up like that Jack.
