It came this morning by FedEx. Got it out, alligned the neck, dropped the neck bucker down a little and to my surprize it was tuned to drop D. They must have known. Anyway, the stock blade buckers do sound pretty good. I still want to swap em out for an XL500 and a 59'. I figure if that works for Dimebag it will definately work for me and my ABBA covers. It only had one small flaw in the paint. Small chip. It's on the upper wing. If it didn't come with it I would have done it myself in time. Sounds plays and feels good. Well worth the $224.99 I payed for it. The origional price tag came with it and it said $529.99.............I stole this thing dudes! I got to go through on some Pantera and go apesh!t so I can get to know it better.

Re: Got the Dean ML XT Phantom.....
After spending a day and an all night long with this axe I have come to the conclusion that.....YES! It needs better pickups. For a bolt on it has loads of sustain, but that is due to the large body and headstock. The bridge is excellent. Balance, build, playability and unplugged tone are killer. The pickups however lack in the harmonics dept. for ME. Maybe others they are enough, but these just don't squeel even if you work for it. Bill Lawrence here I come!

Re: Got the Dean ML XT Phantom.....
I don't have pics, but when I won it I put the pics from E-bay up. It's black, black and more black. I have to say, this is my second choice for weird shaped guitars the first one being a Warlock. I love this axe. I will be changing the pickups though. The blade buckers it came with are good, but I am in need of alot more squeel and output. I havn't put it down since I got it last Saturday. Awesome guitar and the money spent was peanuts for a great guitar. I'm keepin it. Next stop is a 79 Series ML XT in Braziliaburst. Can't wait.

Re: Got the Dean ML XT Phantom.....
Thanks for posting the pic Aaron. I love the way it looks. I'm finding that I am more and more in love with this body style. It has killer sustain and great balance. When I shred I put the V on my knee and let er rip! Very comfortable. I have damn near forgot what my other axes look like! The Floyd copy trem is one of the best I have played on. I'd be willing to bet that the knife edges will grind off after a while, but a new OFR will drop in so I'm not worried. Now for some new pickups............................The neck is very comfortable. I am very amazed. Playing Deans in a shop here and there is cool, but owning one and getting to know it over time is even better. Can't wait to get a 79 Series ML XT. Can't wait. Re: Got the Dean ML XT Phantom.....
But Jon, have you determined if the thing is inhabited by a ghost yet? You know, since it has that "Amityville Horror" thing going on.
Actually, as I finished typing that, it occurred to me that it is called a Phantom, so I'm thinking it must be!
Nice guitar!

You know, it's funny, but I have to kick the demons off of it before I pick it up. It sits in the only cold spot in the house. I have vivid nightmares after I play it. It is the fruits of the devil. This axe was forged in hell. Other than that, it's a pretty cool guitar.
