I just received it yesterday. If any of you guys ever get a chance to play a Gibson ES series semi-hollow body, jump on it. The best way to describe playing it is that it feels alive. Even dead clean has lots of sustain. With a touch of overdrive I was riffin up a storm. Roll the volumes back and you can strum like an acoustic with great tone and clarity. Roll up the volume clean and BB King comes into play. Kick on the overdrive and SRV is in the house. Crank up the amp and you are now Ted Nugent. These guitars do it all. I am going to shock the crowd and my bandmates at our upcoming gig. I am going to play my ES-325 during our Disturbed, Godsmack and Metallica set.If it had a Bigsby I would use it for the Dokken and Ratt also. It is a monster of a guitar.

Re: 1972 Gibson ES325 TD review
Since obviously nobody here is interested in an old Gibby semi-hollow jazz/blues box review I will respond to my own post:
"Wow, sounds like an excellent versatile guitar. Especially for an older person! I sure hope I don't wind up like you after years of shreading!!! Did it come with a stool so you can sit down on stage when you are "riffing"? Didn't the lead guitar player from Metal Church play one? I think that Akira from Loudness played one too. It had a Kahler on it!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 1972 Gibson ES325 TD review
It definately isn't a bright sounding guitar whe heavily distorted but it sounds very similar to a Les Paul IMHO. What is great is if you lower the distortion you can still scream because the sustain remains because of the semi-hollow body. Lowering the distortion certainly lessens the lack of treble. Mine has mini Gibson humbuckers and they sound fantastic. Especially the middle and neck positions.
