• Bill Lawrence XL500 or SD Dimebucker?

Seeings how good ol Dimebag has had good luck with either of these two pickups in an ML style guitar I figured I'd stick one in mine. What kind of feedback and advice can you guys give me? Need some help deciding here.

We haven't heard the Dimebucker on an album yet, so go with the L-500XL. I did.

Make sure you buy directly from http://www.billlawrence.com though. More information here.

From what i've heard from people who have the dimebucker, the dimebucker doesn't sound as good as the XL-500. I've got a XL-500 myself and to me it sound's really good.

I actually like the L500 better than the XL. It's more balanced and still super hot. I have one in an old San Dimas Charvel Star and it kills... very DiMarzio Super Distortion-like.

the XL can be a little shrill thru a bright amp, you may want to use a 1meg pot that takes a little high end off.

Then I may order an L-500XL myself, since my Laney TF-400 has more low-end than I need. Would it sound good in a poplar soloist guitar like my Charvel 650XL?

I just got an e-mail from a guy named Brian who saw my post here and he has one for sale, $50. I bought it. He made sure to note it was an actual Bill Lawrence. Good thing cause the Stew mac ones are rip offs. Can't wait to install it. There goes my patience with the soldering. I WILL MAKE SURE AND WIRE IT THE RIGHT WAY AND NOT BACWARDS. Remeber the Di Mazio Super Distortion bucker in my Model 2?
