    Re: Good type of humbucker?

So it is actually choosing between Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio?
Gibson is really not an option?

I really dont want that old vintage sound of the guitar and dont need that Satriani,-vai vibe of high-end solo's!

    Somewhere between Foo And SOAD!
    What do you recommend?

Go to Harmony Central and read the user reviews of different pickups and then try to make up your own mind. There's too many different brands out there. http://www.harmony-central.com/

          Balck MAriah!

I read the reiews on the Duncan distorsion!

I was just wondering how is the attack with them!
Can i get a sahrp attack with palm mutting?

Or is it that dull sounding?

Ok...Shredding=guitar soloing. Satriani. Vai. Malmsteen. Drop D is NOT shredding. You want a hard rock vibe? The Duncan Distortion is prolly a good bet...

              My fault!

So what do you call palm-muted deep distorsion like MAnson, SOAD, Rammstein, Metallica

i like the duncan 59er/jb combo on my jacksons. however, the jb sounded a bit thin when i play rhythm. it is more for lead work.

i tried the emg's which sound good running thru effects, but sounded kinda sterile running thru a tube amp.

i like the prs hfs humbuckers which sound very musical to me.

the custom wound humbuckers on the ernieball axis sounds good too. it has good note definition.

i also heard good things about the gibson burstbuckers.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I heard a rumor that (at least the bridge pickup) was a DiMarzio Tone Zone in the EVH signature models. Not sure if it would be the same since they changed the model name to Axis.
