Re: Fender Flathead models

I don't like those flat tops although I do like the J5 and I bet it really screams. A tele with aggressive pickups and a Bigsby is a good thing!!

Don't tell me to think and reread. I know what you said, you are just completely biased and make up facts as you go along. Are you sure that Charvel was the first to use black tuners? Did they make them themselves? How do you know that they were the first to rear rout Strats? There were many builders at the time, many who were doing similiar things. I wasn't commenting on something you said anyway. Fact is, the majority of these guitars, come from Fender designs, as did the original Charvels. Get over it. Tuner color? Really

yeahh the strat was the design that started it all..jeez even made Buddy Holly look good

I thought Fender would borrow a few ideas from the jackson/charvel range..yeahh that had to be a charvel that was wrongly badged

looks a sweet guitar, not the eye candy of the 25th anniversary charvel(imo)but still a head turner

lol at the pegheads war!!!

Jason at DCGL said the price for a Flathead is $1999. He has the NAMM one for $2199. That's a bit steeper than I thought they would be.

You are kidding me right, Charvel started the Strat head thing? Charvel wasn't the first to rear load either. I doubt they were the first to use figured wood. Besides, the one humbucker thing came from EVH, not Charvel.

Re: Fender Flathead models

I didn't say Charvel started the Strathead - they started the BLACK TUNERS on a Strathead. As far as I recall, that's been an identifier for Charvels, just as the pointyhead has been for Jackson.
Though EVH's one-hum VH-1 was a Fender, the VH-2 black and yellow was a Charvel. That one and the Kramer are the most identifiable models he had.

Charvel was the first to rear-load a Strat body - Gibson, obviously, had been doing rear-load since the 50s, but they didn't have a Strat-shaped body. Think and re-read.

Re: Fender Flathead models

It would be interesting to play the Flathead Strat and the Anniversary Charvel back-to-back and see how they compare!
