The lightning graphic is a little high but the Class Axe Skull is right where it should be IMHO.

Class Axe guitars never go for that kind of money but that graphic sure is cool and it is nice to see it on the cover of an old catalog.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> Soooo, are you saying you think it is worth that or not? I like the graphic though, Probably not $1000 worth, but cool just the same.
On a side note: I've heard of Class Axe guitars, but what exactly are they? Refurbished B.C. Riches?

way over priced, i know of only 2 gunslinger/ ST-3s that sold for over a $1000. one was made for mark kendal the other tony macalpine. the macalpine sold for big bucks because it was documented & was built by wayne charvel & neal moser guitar. $2500 for a bolton BCRich is SILLY. I cant even get $2000 for a 1979 10string KOA bich & those are the rarest most collectable BCRichs out there.

IMO bolton BCRichs will never bring big bucks, there are no records other than build dates. so there is no way to verify history or originality. plus there are hundreds of fakes & parts guitars thanks to class axe & ed roman

There are alot of sharp BC Rich fans here but I will try to answer your question. Class Axe guitar electronics were made in Nagoya Japan (NJ)along with the bodies and necks but they were completely assembled in New Jersey. I think that there was a custom shop in NJ also but it was very limited production. To answer you other question, after getting info on both of these guitars I would say that they are both around $400-$500 too high. The lightning guitar is a GMW refin which is actually a good thing because you can figure exactly how much it would cost for one by going to their website.

Re: I think I\'m missing something on these...and they used to be mine!!

If these were Charvel/Jackson guitars, I don't think $1000 would be too out of line based on their original prices and "perceived" value, which has been driven by the market for YEARS. Graphic J/C guitars always cause a lot of excitement. Rightfully so.

However, the Gunslingers, while being equally nice guitars IMHO, have never had the cash draw the J/C guitars have. Do I think they're worth $1000? YES. Would I buy them at that price? NO!! The market on these guitars has kept them at a significantly lower price just becasue they're BC Rich. Why? I don't know. I'll buy USA BC Rich bolt-ons all day, because I can almost get them 2 for 1 over J/C guitars, and the playability is quite similar.

Basically, these two sellers, as I have said before, are just trying to get their investment back, which, unfortunately, they paid too much to the person who sold them those guitars - of course, that's just MY opinion. But they did pay that much, so they felt they were worth it. Some people do, some don't. I think these two sellers got sucked in and were maybe a bit starry-eyed about these guitars. They're nice, but not $1000 nice. I think they might be worth it, but I'd never pay more than $600 for a good one. Not after buying back two that I had sold a few years ago and paying almost double what I sold them to this person for. I took a bath there!

Anyway, I hope they sell, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Here's some more pics of the guitars in question - look at the second page towards the bottom -- http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/bc/chr...uitars&.view=t

Jamie - you never know! If you're still feeling that way in about 3 months, talk to me -- I bought a new road bike (getting back into club riding and maybe racing... ), and was going to sell my old one and a bass to pay for it. If my bass buyer falls through, I'll need some ca$h quick...

BCRich boltons will never go for that kind of money because you cant get info on them. you call in a BCRich bolt on serial# & you get a build date or an estamated build date, & not much else. this doesnt include some customs & artist/ endorsee guitars but there are exceptions either way. call in a C/J serial# you get build date, body shape, color, pickup config, & so on.
RARITY, originality & condition are the 3 biggest factors when considering collectables value of any kind. when you cant verify originality, you cant verify how rare it is because you dont even know if its a real factory made guitar, hence LOW resale value. With a little bit of looking around you could probably find a gunslinger or ST-3 with a low serial# for $300-400 add graphic & your still under 1g.

BTW guitar center near me has a PROTOTYPE / very early CUSTOM st-3 $399 that they cant get rid of. it still uses the old neckthru serial# system & its really an oddball, if it didnt have a kahler it would have mine a long time ago.

CHRIS after looking at your pics i want it back....LMAO. it was one of the nicest playing guitars ive owned.
