Does anybody own or know anything about what Anderson was producing after leaving Schecter and before his complete guitars really took off? I think this was between '84 and '90 and I think he was really only producing pickups, necks, bodies at this time...not really complete guitars....I'd like to track some of this stuff down some day...but it's really hard to find. I have one of his old necks and it is awesome.

Re: anybody know anything about old Tom Anderson stuff?
I will take pics if someone will host them. My Anderson is pretty special because it is really a mix of the old and new. When I got it the neck had been ruined by a previous owner that tried to scallop it. I bought with all the original parts, sans the neck (because the owner couldn't find it at the time.) I figured I would just get a Warmoth and have a cool axe for cheap. Anyway, the owner found the neck and sent it to me. Basically the original owner had had a new fingerboard installed by a shop that went out of business before it was completed. When I got the neck, it needed to be radiused, and fretted. I also wasn't sure if the fretboard was any good. My next move was to call Tom Anderson and see if he would restore it. He told me that he didn't redo necks or custom build them because he didn't want any forgeries around, but since he remembered building this particular guitar in 1986 (it is pretty rare for an Anderson) he would build me a new neck to my spec. He wouldn't repair that one because he said that since someone else had worked on it he couldn't insure the quality anymore. Long story short, My very early Anderson has a 2002 neck, built to my spec. Since I sent Tom the rest of the parts, he fit it to the guitar, matched the paint on the headstock and gave it the Buzz Feiten treatment. It is the best of old and new.

The first production ones came out in '86. I have one from one of the first runs 11/'86. He was building a lot of parts prior to that, both for his company and for other companies. Prior to that he was with Schecter.
