So, I walk into Guitar Center today, and they had marked down this used guitar to $199. It's a LAG Rockline Standard--a French handmade guitar that is basically like a tripped-out Ibanez JEM. This thing is solid--mahogany body, Duncan Custom Custom bridge p/u, Schaller Floyd... I'm rather happy with it, though I might change out the bridge p/u to a Duncan Distortion. I'm not sure why they had trouble selling it--it blows away most of the stuff in their store. The neck reminds me a lot of the Jackson '88 Ltd Edition...even has the scalloped frets from 18-24. Perhaps it was the "Made in France" thing...
