    Re: Wayne Guitars

The carelessness of serializing appears to reflect some of the inconsistencies I have seen in Wayne guitars, too. I have played maybe 10 of these guitars and I noticed things like loose neck pockets, poorly finished fret ends, a crooked pickup ring on one, and paint defects. I did not pick up a good vibe playing-wise. On most the action was ok and the fret crowning seemed to be fine. No magic for me. For the money I'd get a GMW (or a GMW & 1/2 for the price of a new Wayne).

I wish Wayne had a little better quality control on the finished product.

        Re: Wayne Guitars

The only reason I'd get a Wayne is to get a star, and considering what you guys have said I'd be a bit leery if I was seriously looking in to one.

I have a couple Wayne replacement stratheads, and I like the profile a little better than my GMW. But the GMW is great too. How do the Warmoth necks compare to the Wayne and the GMW?

Chuck ...NO COMMENT kinda like giving info on guitars you werent there to build.

mulder my wayne neck is round almost like warmoth boatneck profile. i havnt played any GMW necks but warmoth makes really nice necks. i prefer thinner SD "flatspot" type necks tho. so far the ST-3s IMO are the closest to that & its great because they are pretty cheap too. I hope to have GMW build me a guitar or 2 around SD C/J necks ive had for a while.

I picked up a rock legend a couple of months ago for under $700 on ebay. It has since become my favorite axe; the neck feels better every time I play it. It needed a fret dress when I got it, but since then it's been great. These are overpriced new, but if you can find a deal then grab one.

i have a rock legend - and i think the sun rises and sets by it. I also had a gmw, but the neck turned me off so i sold it (AWESOME graphics though), i have another one on order and can't wait to get it.

satch - if you are interested in selling the B&Y, contact me - [email protected]

i've never played a wayne, but i have several gmw's, and personally i do not like how gmw grinds off half of the frets, makes a jumbo fret like a medium height fret, almost a c shape.
