Has anyone here ever played some Schecter guitars? Specifically the Tempest Custom. I'm thinking of buying one and looking for some info on how they sound/play. Thanks.

Re: Schecter
There WAS a Shecter dealer here for a while and I got to play alot of em. I played the Omen 6 and 7 and was very impressed by them. The C series is a killer deal. The Tempest is a comfortable guitar to play. The necks are awsome. I played a used Tempest that came in and the guy had put Seymour Duncans in it. It rocked. I say go for it. Damn good guitars IMHO.

Re: Schecter
The Korean Schecters are made by Samick. Surprisingly, they're really good guitars. My C-1 Elite has the most comfortable neck I've ever played, except for maybe my KV-Pro.
The stock pickups were the "Duncan Designed," however, and they blew. Now it has a set of DiMarzio Virtual PAF's. I think Schecter is using real Duncans now, though.please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

Re: Schecter
I've got a USA Schecter bolt-on 7-string. It's a great playing guitar--sounds great, feels great.
A couple years back, I was looking for a strings-thru 6-string, but didn't want to pay a ton of money for one. I was checking out import Jacksons, ESPs (Korean) and Schecters. Though I thought they were all complete crap, and ended up getting a Carvin (which was about 1000 times better than any of the others), I thought the import Schecters were the least crappy of the crappy import bunch.
