I got a new digital camera for my B-day.
So, I took new pics of the guitars.

These pics are better than the ones on my old site with my old dig-camera.

Still trying to figure out all the options on this new camera and the software.
It's a Toshiba pdr-4300. 4.0 megapixels, 3X optical zoom.

The Carvin 7 string is awesome.
Nice low action. Great feelng neck.
No heel, so access to upper frets is effortless.
I'm really starting to like the C26 pickups as well. Very nice warm tone, just not as high output as the M22sd's. Craftsmanship is superb.

Build is pretty good on it.
Neck pocket is nice and tight.
Not neck heavy.
Pickups are OK. I do plan on changing those.
Action is nice and low.
Trem works just fine.

I'm sure I will replace the pickups over time. I think I will like it a lot, but next to a Carvin DC727 like you have that probably puts a shadow on it. I wanted a DC727 for a while but it would take me too long to get all the money saved up for all the options I would want. Maybe someday I will get one since they do seem pretty nice.

I think you'll really like it.
One thing to do is make sure to take it to you local guitar tech and have him go over it with a fine toothed comb. I do this with all my guitars.
That way they are completely setup to my specs.
And everything is checked over and adjusted or corrected. Especially if UPS has had it for a week. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

They are Japan made guitars sold here in the USA.
I believe made in the same Hamamatsu factory as Tokai. Then built to Pete Diodati choice of options. Woods, hardware, headstock design, inlays, etc...

Here's the spec of my 59Q.
Honduran 2 piece body.
Honduran 1 piece neck.
Carved 1/2" plain maple top with thick AAAA quilted veneer.(common japan practice)
Dark Indian rosewood fretboard. (not dyed).
Gotoh LP AV (Alnico 5 ?) pickups.
Gotoh Tuners and Bridge.
Tusq nut (look and feel of bone, self lubricating like graphite).
MOP crown inlays.
Diodati headstock. (more straight string pull like a PRS).
weight 9lbs.
Lacquer finish.


The fit and finish is superb.
Action is nice and low.
Neck is comfortable. (Has a 59LP profile).
Balanced well, not neck or body heavy.
Has the extended neck tenon for better sustain. Longer than a Gibson usa production tenon. Extends all the way to the PU cavity like an Historic tenon, but doesnt have the tongue extending into the bottom of the pu cavity like an historic tenon.
PU's have a smooth even tone. Not as pronounced as the Duncan Jazz and JB in the fernandes ravelle. But, still a nice tone. I may pick up a Jazz and JB for it, to see how much of a difference it makes.
Inlay work is flawless. No glue or filler around inlay edges. Tight fit.
With case and shipping it cost me $900 total.
It was Pete Diodati's last new one. He has stopped production for awhile. Not, sure when he will start back up. He does have a few tribute series that people traded for other models.
