...Very cool eh?
I've seen better looking skull inlays, but I like this guitar!

That’s really cool; I love the Punisher skull inlays.

This guitar would have cost about $2400 to order from the custom shop.

they won't do vintage trems? wow, that's a drag! my first nice electric was an early 80s NJ warlock. it had what looked to me like their version of a strat head, mop logo, midnight blue with a vintage trem. i did my first pickup install on it when i was 14... i wish i still had that thing.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I have one of those early NJ Series with that headstock. I bought it new in 1984, but mine is a Bich instead of a Warlock. It's got a really cool trans violetburst paintjob, and has the Kahler Flyer trem. I actually traded this guitar off in the 1980's, and then found it again in a pawnshop in the mid 90's and bought it back. Still have it, too.

very cool thats pretty close to the guitar i almost ordered a few years back. but i didnt want inlays & wanted a firebird headstock. but i found one from 83 that was alot nicer, since BCRich will not make a vintage trem guitar anymore & had that old school Rich vibe, i really need. i just wish it had binding on the neck & headstock.

I think those inlays would have looked a lot better if they had done them smaller/regular and centered in the board area between the frets, instead of stretching them out to try to fill as much board area as possible. That's just me...

yep i was told the closest they could come to a vintage trem was a wilkenson..or whatever. BTW i was quoted $2600+ for a warlock without half the options. no inlays, no maple top, there was a big up charge since i wanted hondoran mahogany, neck & body wings. i was also very specific that it had to be made it the old specs as far as body contours. ALSO the USA models with vintage trems usually had Charvel brass bridges.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yah, the inlays would probably look better if they were a bit smaller.... Still cool if you a fan of the Punisher though.

I agree, a bit smaller and MOP rather than abalone would look better. I’ve always thought that abalone can be a little over the top sometimes, especially for skull inlays. Anyway I just thought I would post the pic of the Punisher because I thought a lot of people on the board may not be comic book nerds like me LOL.

I fancy myself a comic book nerd. I'm more of a DC than Marvel guy but the new Marvel 1602 book is quite good.

I'm not really too seriously into the comic book scene anymore, just occasionally pick up some of the books I like to read. 1602 is by Neil Gaiman right? The first time he's written for Marvel?

Hehehe...I know...it's just that, to me, big ole stretched-out inlays like that (especially in abalone) just scream "I'm paying a lot, gimme everything you got!" cheeze. They would have looked better not stretched out of proportions, and they would have looked better and been more defined if they were done in white MOP rather than abalone, really. They probably wanted them streteched and in abalone more because "it didn't cost THAT much more", rather than having really thought out the scheme very well hehehe.
