Actually arent the Jems Alder or at least some of them?
Basswood, alder,mohagony; Whats the difference if the guitar sounds good friggin play it. Yes some woods are more tonally desireable but sheesh EBMM uses basswood, Jackson uses Basswood, Ibanez uses Basswood. Get over it. Its just a friggin tone wood that is readily available. Some of the best sounding guitars i have are Basswood.
My Model 3 and two fo my three stealths are basswood.
