my point was that their top of the line production models aren't that great, so i wouldn't think their custom shop stuff would be that awesome. i think for $2500, you can get a thorn or a mcintruff custom shop with nicer woods, inlays, etc.
than again, i have never played a custom shop peavey...
just my 2¢

...the VERY FIRST CUSTOM SHOP WOLFGANG STANDARD ARCHTOP - the Peavey '99-'00 NAMM Show Guitar...that was BUILT for NONE OTHER than SIR EDWARD - HIMSELF !!!!




Eddie brought THIS ONE OUT on STAGE at that NAMM Show in Anaheim, and it WAS SUPPOSED to be taken RIGHT up Coldwater Canyon to the 5150 abode, but there was a FOUL-UP...It was - TOTALLY BY ACCIDENT - given to ANOTHER Peavey Endorsee that was playing the Show that day as HIS endorsee guitar, {for HIS sake, he shall remain UN-NAMED here [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img] } and I bought a PAIR of Wolfs from him...a red flametop that was played at Woodstock '00, and in the IMAX movie, and THIS one...We found out about WHO'S it was when Michele at Artist Relations at Peavey tried to look it up, and the serial number kept JUMPING to the NEXT NUMBER...She asked me to send a pic via e-mail, and...WHEN I DID, she opened the e-mail, and FLIPPED OUT !!!!...

"OH MY GOD !!!!...EDDIE'S GUITAR !!!!!....WHERE did you GET THIS ????"

I politely informed her that it INDEED was by LEGAL MEANS, BUT...that WHERE I got it was "for ME TO KNOW, and YOU to FIND OUT"...

She THEN OFFERED me...

" TWO ARCHTOP WOLFGANG STANDARDS in MY CHOICE OF COLOR"... If I would SEND THIS ONE BACK TO PEAVEY...

...I RESPECTFULLY DECLINED - and THAT was THAT !!!

One will be HARD-PRESSED to EVER find BIRDS-EYE like the NECK on THIS one !!!!!
