• USA custom guitars

I found a sweeeeeeeet USA custom guitars strat body complete with electronics which looks GREAT at a reasonable price.

How good quality are these guitars? Since I think that they are quite a small company, I assume they make good guitars. I mean, how else will you get big and famous! ?

I'll second that. I've been down to the USACG shop several times. Great place. Great quality. I've got several guitars from them.

Ok! Sounds great! Thanx for the input.

The body in question is a Honduras Mahogeny strat body. It's finished in black, and it comes with a Gibson neck humbucker, all electronics and a Fender american standard tremolo. It would cost me 200$. Is that too expensive? If i order a new one, it'll cost me 190+shipping(40$)+tax(120$) AND the cost of finishing. And that's the price without any electronics or hardware.

So new: 350+cost of hardware
used: 200 incl all hardware(except bridge hummer)

Would a Carvel model neck fit it nicely?

Most likely a Charvel would fit better!

$200 is a terrible price. Can you send me the contact information for this guy so I can give him a piece of my mind. <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Is it a 25.5" scale w/21 or 22 frets? Then probably. Also, you've gotta measure the neck pocket - USACG is right on with Fender specs.

okay, atomic donut eater, i get the 25.5 part, but when you've got neck pocket dimensions, like someone telling you it's roughly 2.20 - 2.24, etc, it gets a bit irritating.

I love talking to the machinist in my department:

Machinist: so I made so and so 100 thousanths wide
Me: You mean a tenth of an inch?
Machinist: right, 100 thousanths

Then it's get's really fun when you take one of those thousandths and divide it by 10 and those are what we form grind too! Ahhhhh the elusive tenth of a thousandth......
