Re: BC Rich Bronze

dude its less than $100 its gonna be a POS. you can find model 1's & 2's for $150-200+.

& yes BCRich has gone to crap they've been crap for a long time now. 1987 it was all down hill from there with moments of hope from around 95 on but still nuthing like the pre 87 stuff.

BTW Quan badass's are a few different weights, i have a few. some of the PAF ones are featherlite

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">This is simply untrue. The Warlock Bernie Rico built me in 1999 Is one of the most amazing guitars I have ever played. When Bernie Rico reacquired BC Rich, the quality was there. Some of the Final guitars made that Jr. watched over after Bernie Died were not up to his father's standards. Have you played any of the new custom shop stuff made under the new ownership? I have and it is simply stunning.

Yes I have they are nice guitars, but IMO not built the same way as the old ones. like i said after 95 when Bernie was back they did start making better guitars. ive played a few of them & they were kinda hit or miss tho. the fit & finishs are much better than the old ones but IMO they arent made the same, & do not have the feel of the old ones. & ive had many right now im down to just a few keepers that i just cant sell, except a warlock dont think i like anymore.

And as far as production guitars go, they are far and away a pale, pale shadow of what they once were. In particular the once well made NJ series.

Re: BC Rich Bronze

all the BC's ive played have bad neck balance (used to own a 2000-ish nj warlock)

My friend has the bronze mockingbird and that thing is so hard to play standing up, its also hard to balance on your leg when sitting down, he seriously wasted $150 on a pile of crap, he wanted a jackson but said he was better off with the rich cuz htey gave him free strings and a strap

I like his "lyon series" strat copy alot,
actually 2 of my friends own one.
i dont think they make them anymore but they used to sell for about $120

forgot to mention, if a guitar costs you $89 how much money do you think the company spent on the wood and hardware?

oh and my friends mocking bird sounds dead past the 12th fret

Re: BC Rich Bronze

With the abundance of old charvels out there for under 200 bucks I can't see why anyone would go buy a new "anything" in that price range. But that's just me. I like the idea of giving him your model 2 instead of some crap heap. And also, I don't understand the term "entry level" unless it's referring to a new guitar price only. The worse thing a new guitar player can do to himself is try to learn on a crappy playing and sounding guitar. This is where the used market shines!

if you give him one of your guitars and he decides to quit later on, you can just take the guitar back, instead of having to sell the cheap guitar
