Burnys are awesome. Incredible workmanship, sound killer. Chris' guitars usually has a couple. Great bang for not a lot of bucks.

The Tremonti SE's are sweet although only available in two colors (black and Platinum)
They are thinner and lighter than Les Paul but they have tone for days. Great construction great playability and great price. They have PRS pups in em too.

If your not looking for a Les Paul clone, but just something similar, may I suggest a Yamaha Weddington Classic or Custom. I have a Classic, and it is a fantastic guitar. I can't say enough about these things. You really need to try one out if you can find one, they're super rare, but every once in a while you see one on Ebay.

you just missed a heritage go for 610 or something...which is a good deal. I had a fancy Heritage and it was decent...got to watch out for certain years because the necks were not glued properly at the body and tend to shift a little bit and you end up with a rise at the end.

Ibanez copies from the 70's are ****, although they do have unique sounding pickups.

I'm not a big les paul fan but I just snaged a 1983 LP studio in TV yellow rosewood board pearl dot markers original '83' covered humbuckers and this thing rocks.Tone is fantastic very FAT.
She has a bad case of buckle rash but I look for guitars that have been played a lot.Its a sign of a good guitar. It'll get a refin some day but now shes gettin' the snot played out of her.
                  Really? well screw Mark Twain.

In reference to Ibanez of the 70's their pickups are very nice. Some of their les paul copys are quite nice.If you can find some of their super 70's pickups buy em they sound great nice and bluesy and warm.

                          Burnys are made by Fernandez.
They used the name to avoid problems with Gibson.
                          They are great guitars.
Made in Japan Tokai Les Pauls(Love Rock or reborns madea round 80's) are the best but only if you can find one.

If you are looking for a great Les Paul, look for Orville(headstock must say by Gibson) or Burny from Japan.
                          Greco is good too.

Ibanez? Don't waste money on Bolt on Neck Ibanez Les Paul.Try to look for a set neck one.
