      Re: "Dimarzio" bodies info please

I know of a guy who has a DiMarzio SD style Strat body. It has the 1 hum, 1 vol, non recessed floyd route. It's in a trans red finish and looks to be ash as it is pretty highly figured. He has a reversed bannana ESP neck with a maple board on it. He put one of the higher end Ibanez bridges on it somehow. I think it's an older Low Pro Edge trem. Don't ask how, but he was pretty proud of it and kept remarking about it. Anyway, I got to play it and it was pretty heavy weight wise and sounded great. He said he found the body in El Paso TX and got for like $50. It's funny this would come up on here. I have always wondered about DiMarzio bodies. I didn't know that there were necks too. This is interesting. Too bad they don't do this anymore.

I remember an ad with Joe Satriani endorsing Dimarzio guitars. It was the first thing I saw as being a Dimarzio guitar. It was a COntoured body similar to the current JS signature Ibanhad.
I think it was white with colored splatters all over it. Looked cool at least for the time frame which would've been the early 80s i believe.

Sure it was Satch and no Vinnie Moore? He had an Ibanez Radius that was white with colored splatters.

This one had caught my eye and he didn't take it apart until a day before the end of the auction.

I seen her early on and was hoping she was an early Charvel but thought it probably was a Dimarzio or Boogie.
Notice the PrePro input jack and brass trem. THe cavity routes are dead on too.
However, that neck through me for a loop.. I don't know of any Dimarzio, Boogie or Charvel necks with a 70's strat headstock.

OK I'll try to shrink the pics.
That strat is pretty cool.Northern ash if its real heavy.A bright sounding guitar would be my guess with that body and a maple neck, killer pickup and and brass trem.
