My bassist is always trying to get me to get another 7 string. Now that the 7 string craze seems to be dying down there isn't much on the market. Ibanez is down to like one affordable model and Schector seems to be the only other option. After comparing prices and all the Schecter Omen 7 seems to be the best buy. All I'm going on is looks right now. I have played a couple higher end Schecters and they felt great and sounded just as good. I'm looking at $299 as opposed to like $499 and up. I checked out E-bay and there are a few used Ibanez 7's, but I don't want to spend too much just in case I get that Carpel Tunnel Syndrome crap that caused me to rid myself of my RG7420 a couple years ago. If anyone has tried one out let me know. I'd like some comments. As for HarmonyCentral, there is one really negative comment on a current Omen 7 and the rest are from last year and I think those are based on the older models. I'm going to use it to tune down to A. My bassist is sick into Korn and wants to play a few of their tunes.

Just FYI, I MIGHT be looking to sell one of my Carvin 7's in the next month. The one I'll be selling I've had for about 4 months and bought brand new from Carvin. Neck Thru, All Mahogony, Unfinished. It's a NICE guitar but I'm considering trying something else. I replaced the stock pickup with a Seymoud Duncan Invader-7 for more/tighter low end. Ebony Fretboard, Abalone Block Inlays, Schaller locking Tuners, Strung-Thru body.
You'd be surprised at how little I'll let it go for also. Don't get me wrong, it's a custom shop USA axe so it won't be no $299. But I'd say under $500 most likely.

It would be an honor to own your axe, but I have to pass for now. No telling when I will be able to buy any new gear. I'm waiting on a job I applied for that pays better than where I'm at now. Got a baby on the way too. My wife would kill me if I bought a new guitar right now. I really appreciate the offer though. Nice looking guitar I might add. I was thinking about the Omen 7 mostly due to price and the fact that I have a poor history with wide necks. I get Carpel Tunnel Syndrome from them for some reason. I figure too that if I buy a cheap one it wouldn't be that hard to sell and I'd only take a slight loss. Something as bad a$$ as yours would need a good home. Anders: Hey there bro! Yea, the new band's been keeping me pretty busy lately. We've made quite a bit of headway in a really short period of time. Already getting regular airplay on the biggest Rock station here during there late night eXtreme Metal shows. As for my lack of posting... Let's face it.. 90% of the poeple here aren't into what's going on with my new band because I'm no longer in a band with the obvious 80's feel to it (Not that it was ab ad thing) so I've just kept to myself as to what's going on there. If someone's interested in my band they can click the link below. Other than that, I post when I feel compelled to and still lurk with the best of them! heheheh
