Re: Warmouth has a new improved truss rod adjustment!

I've recently moved and don't yet have my FTP linked up with the ISP, but if someone would host the pics for me.. I'll take a pic of my neck and email it and they could put it up..

Contact me at stevierayguitars2003-AT-yahoo.com or just post your email here and I'll get them send out.

Yup. That's the Gotoh device.
Here's a pic of the neck:

That's the neck I got with that Warmoth Star parts deal off Ebay (JCFer). I got the original receipts and they don't mention the Gotoh system (unless it's a code?)
All it says for the neck is:
STRAT NECK
M/M,11,STD,6150,S/R

Maple/Maple, 11 (1 11/16"?), Sandard neck profile (kinda fat), 6150 fret size, can't say what the S/R is - Standard righty?

Yep, that's it... They didn't say anything to me about it being there either when I ordered my neck... or about the fact that they predrill all the neck heels now either.. A word of caution when ordering from Warmoth...

Draw out what you want in crayon for them, or your likely to get some things you don't want done (like the predrilled neck heel, in my case).

Looks like... (and this is a guess) it's a way to straighten out twisted necks. I'm guessing it moves the butt end of the truss rod across the fingerboard.

Sure looks like a nightmare if it gets out of whack, however. Personally, I'll stick with my 'butt adjust' truss rods - the warmoth necks I've had were very good at being stable. My birdseye/birdseye strat neck was even correct out of the box - I didn't have to adjust it at all.

Not sure exactely how it works, but the instructions included with it say to adjust the neck to a straight condition before you put it on the guitar, by using the adjustor at the heel end of the neck.. then any adjustments that have to made to the guitar after that can be made by the side adjustor (after string tention has been removed). I guess it saves you from having to take the guitar completely down to adjust the truss rod..

Like I stated, great idea in concept.. but just kinda asthetically troubling.. to me anyway.

Not at all. Look at the hole compared to the frets - very tiny. You'd have to palm the entire heel to notice it, and even then your hands would be too small to be playing guitar

It's a recessed bolt and the hole is not big at all.
