<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Here's the scoop. The original "W" in GMW's name was a guy named Pat Wilkins, who did the painting and finishing work. If you ask Lee or Neal, they'll tell you that Pat was sacked because too many customers were complaining of problems with the finishes on their guitars, ie chipping too easily, cracks, etc. If you ask Pat, he'll tell you that he left GMW because he disagreed with certain business practices that GMW used. Believe whom you want; as with everything, the truth is somewhere in the midst of it all. Pat still does work under his own name now, Wilkins Guitar Finishes in the Van Nuys area. Nice guy. Almost had my guitar done through his shop, but I am very happy with my decision to work with GMW. I should take delivery on my guitar in the next 2-3 weeks. Can't wait!!!

Yeah Sully, it shouldn't be long now. After I approved the paint work last weekend, I know they took it right in for clear coating, where it will sit for about a week and then be buffed out. I cannot wait! It's funny, but for the first ten months or so, I was cool about the whole process. Now I'm climbing the walls! Getting the room ready for it, just bought a stand from Carvin on Friday to display it. This must be what it's like when you're expecting a new baby, but that must be on a whole different level altogether. Of course, pics will be posted at my first opportunity.
