Re: New Kramers...

I just got my nuclear yellow music yo Kramer baretta 404s/n its badass the heel joint is different than my soloist sl4, well i mean the soloist is carved out at the back and the kramer aint. the kramer is realy fkn light too comparing my sl4 to the kramer the kramer feels like its about 3lbs. or so lighter, even though they are both maple necktru with alder bodies. i realy like the necks on both of these, even though they are different. the quadrail pickups aint no emg's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i do like them though, they are ok.....i'll eventualy put dual 81's in this sucker. i was yankin the hell out of the kramer trem and it stays in tune i have zero complaints about this guitar as of right now. it isnt as nice as my sl4!!!but a neckthru super strat for 309$, im gonna get more kramers!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are very cool!!! they need to offer these in neon pink and neon green

Re: New Kramers...

I have a few Kramers.. Very good guitars for the price.. I have a Baretta FR404S/D from back when they put the skull and crossbone tuners on them that I dropped an SD and a Paf Pro in to.. So I have $350 into it and have no complaints at all, I also have a Striker FR424S/M that I absolutely love!! It's my #2 right behind my Jem

The bottom line is, the Pacer and Focus lines aren't anything special but the Striker and Baretta lines are excellent values!!

Re: New Kramers...

Well, I have a Striker 422SM in metallic blue and a nuclear yellow Baretta (awesome 80's color) that I haven't touched much since getting my DK2, but after reading this thread I broke out the Baretta yesterday and played around for a few hours.

The build quality on the DK2 is a lot better, and the wiring and paint on the Baretta is a little sloppier, but it's a nice playing guitar. I prefer the Dk2's neck, but the Baretta isn't bad at all, especially when you consider that I bought it for $220 new.

The quadrails actually aren't that bad, although the neck one only works half the time. But once I put EMGs in it, that won't even be an issue. And I think I prefer the Kramer Floyd to the JT580LP.

Re: New Kramers...

For the price of many NEW Kramers you can buy a used Kramer from "SOME" era that is probably money better spent.

An old Baretta cost more than a charvel model 4. They go for about $400. I haven't played one, but i think i'd rather go for the Charvel \m/. I wouldn't get an old striker or focus... well maybe a striker.

Dude, a Striker is made of plywood. A Focus is solid wood at least, and is basically a cheaper Baretta. I'd pick a Focus over a Striker myself.
Ron is the MAN!!!!

You sure? I thought the focus was the cheapest of the line. Well, i'd still get a baretta if i was going to get one.
